Welcome to
ANT & SEB

Ant & Seb were a group from Wales who auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor. They are known for their entertaining rendition of Mysterious Girl on UK Talent Competition the X Factor. The pair’s audition has attracted widespread media attention and is frequently cited as one of the show’s most iconic and culturally significant moments.

Early Life and Formation

Born and raised in Wales, Ant & Seb—formed their duo in the mid-2000s, performing at local colleges before gaining national attention.

The X Factor Audition

Ant led with smooth vocals while Seb delivered unexpected Jamaican-inspired, robotic rap interjections. Although the judges criticised seb’s performance, audiences embraced it, and the audition quickly went viral, becoming widely meme-ified with captions such as, “When your mum says take your brother with you.”

Career After The X Factor

Following the show, Ant & Seb toured the UK, performing in major arenas. Their largest show was a sold-out performance at Manchester Arena (now AO Arena) to approximately 21,000 fans.

Life Away from the Spotlight

The duo later stepped back from public life, choosing to keep their personal lives private. Ant performed as a solo artist at festivals across Europe, while Seb worked behind the scenes in music-video production.

Investments and Business Ventures

During their time away, they managed their savings carefully, winning four consecutive years of accumulator football bets and using part of the proceeds to help establish a family-run pet business.

Mental Health Journey

Several years after The X Factor, Ant experienced a severe mental health breakdown linked to how their performance was edited for television. Like many reality TV contestants of that era, the behind-the-scenes experience proved far more challenging than it appeared on screen. Ant continues his healing journey and is not yet ready to share further details.

Update: 2025–2026

In recent interviews, Ant & Seb spoke openly about stepping away from the spotlight for several years following their early fame. Years later, the duo returned with the Christmas food-parody charity single “Sprinkle It,” co-written by the brothers and blending Ant’s smooth vocals with Seb’s trademark humour. Teased on TikTok, the track gained over 480,000 views within 24 hours, with fans describing the comeback as “better than a One Direction reunion.”

Released in December 2025, “Sprinkle It” raised funds for Shelter and Shelter Cymru and charted in its first week—reaching #37 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart and #45 on the Official UK Singles Sales Chart—achieved without any radio support or major marketing backing, a rare feat for an independent charity release. With fans now calling for further projects, including a potential tour and personalised Cameo messages, Ant & Seb’s return demonstrates that nearly two decades on, their music, humour, and authenticity continue to resonate with audiences.
